On Thursday, October 26th, the transfer journalist stated that a fresh deal is nearing completion and that an agreement is imminent.

Doucoure has agreed to extend his contract at Goodison Park for another two years, with an option to extend it until 2026.

“Abdoulaye Doucouré, set to sign new deal at Everton very soon,” he tweeted.

“Understand agreement is nearing completion on new contract until June 2025.” The option to extend until June 2026 will be included. “Deal at final stages, set to be completed.”

This is fantastic news for the club, and no one will be happier than Sean Dyche.

Since his arrival, Doucoure has been at the center of his plans, with that advanced midfield role becoming his own and allowing him to thrive enormously on Merseyside.

No one has scored more crucial goals under Dyche than Doucoure, whose goal against Bournemouth on the last day of last season comes to mind immediately.

These are the types of players Everton should be developing, not those with a fancy name and skills, with Doucoure leading the way.

Doucoure stayed and hammered down his spot even further to secure his place at the top of the pile during a busy summer where the likes of Alex Iwobi packed their bags and moved on.

Hopefully, this contract will be completed and announced shortly so that we can celebrate, but then move on to some crucial Premier League games in which Doucoure will undoubtedly play a significant role.
