As he gets closer to his injury comeback, Alex Moreno has expressed gratitude to the Aston Villa supporters for their kind words.

The left-back hasn’t played for Villa since suffering a hamstring injury during the 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Anfield back in May. After intensifying his recuperation, Moreno missed the entire preseason before making his matchday squad comeback last month.

He did not play in the matchups against Legia Warsaw and Crystal Palace, and he was not included in the squad that traveled to Chelsea later on. Moreno wasn’t entirely at ease to play, according to Emery, thus he wasn’t included in the squad. However, he hasn’t been named since.

“Moreno was training with us, but he failed to complete the final step necessary to be fully recovered and ready to play. We pulled him off.

“At this point, he won’t require much time—he’s making good progress—to be ready to play official matches in addition to training with us.

Jacob Ramsey was also stopped by us. Again, he suffered a minor injury. We now need to proceed with the necessary actions while he makes it apparent that he will return in full to the required level.”

When asked when either player would make a comeback, Emery responded, “Hopefully not more than two or three weeks.”

Since then, Moreno has updated supporters on social media. “Hello Villa fans, thank you for the messages I received. I am much better and I will be back soon,” he stated in a video that he released.
