Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has been speaking with Ryan Sessegnon, and the news isn’t good.
Sessegnon has been out with an injury since Ange joined at the club. The left-winger was a major member of the squad last season but has struggled since joining from Fulham for about £30 million.
And when asked to give an update on Sessegnon’s injury, Postecoglou conceded he’s not going to be able to use the winger for some time.
Postecoglou gives update on injury to Ryan Sessegnon
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino confirmed Sessegnon’s long-term absence during a press conference transcribed by Football.London.
“Nah, nah, long-term mate, still a way to go,” he replied.
“Yeah, it’s difficult for him. There is plenty of motivation available to football players. You may not be playing as much or as frequently as you would like, but you’re still in a position where you can at least afford yourself the opportunity to play, whereas individuals like Ryan must work hard to re-enter the group.
Another blow for one of Tottenham’s great hopes
There was a big buzz around Spurs when they landed Sessegnon from Fulham but he has just not worked out yet for different reasons.
Injuries have played a significant role in his lack of involvement, and this is just another major stumbling block for him.
Unfortunately for Sessegnon, he’d definitely be flying in this Postecoglou side and have the freedom to play freely.
Hopefully, the Englishman will be able to overcome his recent setback and continue his career. He must be thinking what he did wrong to be released again right now.
