An injury setback has been suffered by Nottingham Forest ahead of their match against Liverpool at Anfield.

Due to a hamstring issue, Chris Wood, the striker, will miss the Premier League game on Merseyside. Steve Cooper, the head coach, announced that he would be out “for a little while.”

Wood’s injury reduces Cooper’s options for attack even more. Callum Hudson-Odoi, a winger, and forward Divock Origi were already out for the Reds.

In an attempt to recover from a groin issue, front man Taiwo Awoniyi makes a welcome comeback to the bench. Additionally, Anthony Elanga has bounced back from illness to continue starting for Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

“Unfortunately, Woody sustained a hamstring injury,” Cooper stated prior to kickoff. “He’ll be away from it for a short while.”

Last time out, Forest and Luton Town drew 2-2 at the City Ground thanks to two goals from Wood. It was Cooper’s team’s third straight draw.

At Anfield, the Welshman makes two lineup adjustments. The team changes formation as Ola Aina and Moussa Niakhate join.

A change of formation sees Matt Turner in goal with Serge Aurier, Willy Boly, Moussa Niakhate, Murillo, and Ola Aina in the back line ahead of him. In the middle of the field, Nicolas Dominguez, Orel Mangala, and Ibrahim Sangare continue to play.

Elanga and Morgan Gibbs-White will be the first to pose an offensive threat. Odysseas Vlachodimos, Joe Worrall, Neco Williams, Cheikhou Kouyate, Andre Santos, Moussa Niakhate, Ryan Yates, Brandon Aguilera, and Ola Aina will be on the bench with Awoniyi.

Turner; Gibbs-White, Elanga; Mangala, Sangare, Dominguez; Aurier, Boly, Niakhate, Murillo, Aina. Awoniyi, Kouyate, Santos, Toffolo, Yates, Worrall, Williams, Vlachodimos, and Tavares are the substitutes.
