Leeds United: Graham Smyth shares unseen Willy Gnonto moment at full-time v Huddersfield Town
Willy Gnonto headed straight back to the Leeds United dressing room after his side’s convincing 4-1 win over Huddersfield Town, according to journalist Graham Smyth.
The Italy international had minimal impact after being introduced as a second-half substitute at Elland Road on Saturday (28 October).
In an article for the Yorkshire Evening Post on Monday [30 October] picking out some off-camera moments, Smyth shared what Gnonto did when the full-time whistle sounded.
“Willy Gnonto heading straight down the tunnel at full-time,” Smyth said.
Odd man out
Any injury issues aside – and it must be remembered Gnonto is still being eased back into the team after a recent lay-off – the teenage attacker was likely frustrated come the full-time whistle.

Gnonto was supposed to be Leeds’ main man this season following a summer of disruption that ultimately saw a return to the Premier League collapse.
Not helped by that aforementioned spell on the sidelines, the 19-year-old has only scored or assisted in one of his past seven outings for Leeds – and one of his past nine for club and country.
Crysencio Summerville has been quite simply sensational in recent weeks and is arguably the best player in the Championship right now, while Daniel James has also added an end product to his game on the other flank.
Joel Piroe and Georginio Rutter also impressed against Huddersfield, both claiming an assist, so Gnonto is the odd man out right now.
Nobody would have seen that coming a couple of months back, but it is now down to the Italian youngster to knuckle down and win back his spot in the side.
