The aim in the summer transfer window was to give Stefano Pioli two players in each position, but there are still a couple of gaps in the squad that the management intend to fill.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport reports, Milan have failed to really give a solid deputy to Theo Hernandez in recent years. Diogo Dalot arrived on loan from Manchester United and played on his less-favoured side, while the same applies to Alessandro Florenzi now, and Fode Ballo-Touré never gave the right guarantees.

Giorgio Furlani, Geoffrey Moncada and Antonio D’Ottavio are aiming to fix that problem and they have a name circled in red right at the top of their list: Juan Miranda. Milan tried for him in the summer when Alexis Saelemakers was one step away from the Andalusian club, but in the end nothing came of it.

Everything was postponed until next summer or January and the Rossoneri have continued working in the background. Miranda’s deal expires in June and he has no intention of renewing it, so signing him on a free transfer would be an opportunity for Milan, even more so because the player has already made it clear he would welcome the destination.

To burn the competition, however, Furlani and Moncada could attempt to make a move in January. For a fee of €3m, Betis could let Miranda leave because the LaLiga side know they have a player who could leaving for nothing.
