Everton are eyeing a move for Juventus forward Samuel Iling-Junior as they look to bolster their squad this January.

According to a recent rumor on Tuttosport, Everton is considering a January deal for Juventus attacker Samuel Iling-Junior. The Toffees are reportedly hoping to rekindle their interest in signing the wide player from England during the next winter transfer window.

Insufficient Playtime for Iling-Junior at Allianz Stadium This Season

Iling-Junior hasn’t played much for Juventus, but when he has, he has made an impression on the left side of the team’s attack. The English wing wizard has scored for Turin in one of every three games this season, across all competitions.

The 20-year-old only averages 0.3 shots and 0.3 key passes every 90 minutes because he has only appeared off the bench in all of his Serie A outings. He has even shown precision when passing the ball in the opposition’s half, having completed 80.6% of his passes on attempts in top football (data via whoscored).

His contract with the Italian team expires in the summer of 2025. Thus, the Toffees will need to make a compelling offer if they want to sign the English sensation in January.

Iling-Junior: Should Everton Manager Sean Dyche Sign Him This January?

With the ball at his feet, Iling-Junior can be a respectable dribbler when he plays on the field regularly and confidently. He also knows how to find a yard of personal space. He might occasionally even provide his teammates opportunities in the final third.

Iling-Junior’s regular position is wide left, but he can also play on the right wing when needed. However, because he is still relatively raw, the talented young player will need some time to prove his worth at the highest level.

Iling-Junior, though, would undoubtedly give Everton head coach Sean Dyche’s offense some much-needed punch. He would also help the Toffees compete on all fronts in the next seasons.

Consequently, it stands to reason that the Merseyside club will exert all of its effort to recruit Iling-Junior when the transfer market opens at the start of the next year. It remains to be seen, though, if he can manage English football’s physical and fierce style.
