Wataru Endo is expected to start Liverpool’s first-ever back-to-back games against Toulouse and Brentford.
When Liverpool signed Wataru Endo from VfB Stuttgart this summer, there were questions.
After selling Jordan Henderson and Fabinho due to Saudi Arabia’s sudden interest, the Reds made moves to acquire Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia. But Chelsea was able to acquire both players from Liverpool despite Liverpool making a club record £111 million and an improved final offer of £60 million.
In retaliation, the Reds agreed to pay £16.2 million for Endo. Three months into his career at Anfield, the 30-year-old Japan international has started just one Premier League game, so the jury is yet out.
