Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa linked with Wilfred Ndidi
According to the report, Brentford, Tottenham, Villa, and Newcastle are all thinking about putting in bids for Ndidi in January.
In addition, AS Monaco, Lyon, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid are all interested in the 26-year-old defensive midfielder.
Ndidi’s contract with Leicester expires at the end of the current campaign, and TEAMtalk has reported that the former Premier League winners are making a concerted effort to persuade him to sign a new agreement.
Villa were linked with the midfielder when Steven Gerrard was in charge of the club.
Leicester are playing in the Championship this season after getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the last campaign.
The Foxes are doing extremely well at the moment and look like they could win automatic promotion with ease.
View: January transfer unlikely
Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City could be available for a January transfer window signing by Tottenham Hotspur or Aston Villa.
It seems that Leicester would not let the defensive midfielder from Nigeria go in the middle of the campaign.
After all, the Foxes are aiming to win promotion back to the Premier League.
So, why would they let go of one of their best and most important players in the middle of the season?
Ndidi’s contract expires in the summer of 2024, it’s true, but losing him on a free transfer is still preferable to selling him in January and then failing to get promoted to the Premier League.
Ndidi has made nine starts and three substitute appearances in the Championship for Leicester this season.
The 26-year-old has scored one goal and given three assists in those games.
