Manager Gareth Southgate has called up Newcastle United forward Callum Wilson to the England team for their last two Euro 2024 qualifying matches.
Wilson, 31-years old, has seven Premier League goals so far this year. However, on Tuesday, he suffered a hamstring injury while Newcastle was defeated by Borussia Dortmund.
James Maddison, a midfielder for Tottenham, and Bukayo Saka, a forward for Arsenal, are both in despite injury concerns.
England’s matches are against North Macedonia on November 20 and Malta on November 17.
Following a 3-1 victory over Italy in October, Southgate’s team has already qualified for the event to be held in Germany in June and July of next year.
Raheem Sterling, a forward for Chelsea, is left off the team for the fifth time in a row.
Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa, who was selected for the October international matches for the first time since March 2022, and Jordan Henderson, who joined Al-Ettifaq from Liverpool in July, both maintain their spots.
Both Manchester City defender John Stones and Arsenal attacker Eddie Nketiah are sidelined due to injuries.
