West Ham leads UEFA Europa League Group A after winning two games and losing one. They face Olympiacos on Thursday. Joe Cole praises summer signings Mohammed Kudus and James Ward-Prowse.
Joe Cole thinks that Mohammed Kudus is the most impressive summer addition for West Ham, projecting him to be a “top player”.
To date, Kudus has garnered a great deal of admiration from the West Ham supporters; one fan even flew to Ghana to watch the 23-year-old play for his nation.
Kudus was signed in the summer by David Moyes, with a reported fee of £38 million enough to prise him away from Ajax.
With 16 games played for his new team, he has already scored eight goals, which is a respectable return for a wide player for an 11th-place Premier League team.
This Thursday’s crucial UEFA Europa League encounter between Olympiacos and London Stadium, which will be televised live on TNT Sports, is probably going to include him.
Cole, a former playmaker for West Ham, is thrilled with Kudus as well as two other new additions.
Speaking to fellow TNT Sports expert Jermaine Jenas, Cole said of The Hammers’ recruitment: “That’s what the club have done really well.
“[James] Ward-Prowse has been brilliant. I’ve always known he was a good player but it’s not until you watch him week in, week out, you see exactly what he brings
“[Edson] Alvarez has been fantastic, he’s bedded in [since joining from Ajax] but gets around the pitch, he’s a good midfielder.
He then moved onto to Kudus, and suggested the Ghanaian has the potential to kick on further.
“Kudus is the one to look for though, that kid, man,” he added. “He was at Ajax, and you look at Antony who was at Ajax, but not really settled into the Premier League.
But Kudus, because of the power in him, he was never going to have a problem translating from the Eredivisie into the Premier League
“He’s going to be a top player, he’s my one.
