Derby County and Blackburn Rovers ‘have joined the chase’ for Leeds United and Sunderland-linked forward

The 21-year-old has made an impression in League Two, and rumors have it that Leeds and Sunderland are taking notice of his play.

TEAMtalk reports that Derby and Blackburn are now included in the list of interested parties.

An experienced Iraqi international, Al-Hamadi began his career at Tranmere Rovers’ youth before joining Swansea City on scholarship.

Before transferring to AFC Wimbledon in January, he played senior football for Wycombe Wanderers.

Since then, the forward has made 36 appearances for the team, tallying six assists and 15 goals.

According to the source, during the summer transfer window, Barnsley and Peterborough both made fruitless attempts to sign Al-Hamadi.

Adding strength to their front line is reportedly Blackburn’s top objective for January, and they have been keeping a close eye on Al-Hamadi.

Although Derby are said to be “big admirers” of the shooter, rumors have it that AFC Wimbledon is hesitant to let him go.
