According to website 90min AC Milan has chosen to take action to Sporting Lisbon magnificent striker Viktor Gyokeres earlier than January — only a few months after Leeds United expressed interest in the Swedish player. 

Gyokeres, 25, has become quite famous in the past few years. He contributed to 34 goals in 50 games during his last campaign with Coventry, tallying 12 assists and scoring 22 goals. Clubs got fervent.

Leeds reportedly sent scouts to watch Gyokeres in the latter stages of the previous season, and the club continued to have interest in him over the summer, according to The Daily Mail. However, on July 13, he paid £20 million to join Sporting.

Since joining the team, the Swedish player has been a star for the Portuguese powerhouses. Sporting is currently leading the league, and a big reason for that is Gyokeres and his rapid progress.

He has had a hand in 15 goals during his 13 games for the Portuguese outfit, scoring 11 and creating four more. Such form is now attracting Milan, just a few months after Leeds were interested in a move.

The report from 90Min says West Ham and Brentford are also keeping an eye on his progress but with Milan in need of striker reinforcements, they could make a move. Olivier Giroud is first choice, at 37.

 

Of course, Milan have history with a Swedish striker that has brought them an enormity of success, in the form of the legendary Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Gyokeres then, could be off to Milan, after we were keen.
