Everton fans can be excited about ‘massively underrated’ Dominic Calvert-Lewin after what he’s done – journalist

Everton fans should be excited about Dominic Calvert-Lewin on the back of his recent form, according to Paul Brown.

Speaking to GiveMeSport on Tuesday (14 November), the former Daily Star journalist said the England international is “massively underrated” and looks fitter than he has for some time.

He added that the 26-year-old is now starting to prove his worth for the Toffees as he believes he is one of the best strikers in the Premier League.

“It should be exciting for Everton fans and I hope it continues,” said Brown. “I’ve been saying for a while that he’s a massively underrated striker and I was kind of expecting him to start proving his worth. I think he is doing that.

“He does look fitter than he has for some time. I think he got some unnecessary stick at times because he just couldn’t keep himself fit.

“I don’t really think you can criticise Calvert-Lewin for that, he’s been very unlucky with a series of injuries, he’s tried his hardest and he clearly loves the club. I just think he’s one of the best strikers in the Premier League and now people are beginning to see it.”

Vital

It’s pretty clear that Calvert-Lewin is a vital part of the Everton team and he makes them so much better when he’s fit and healthy.

The forward’s return to fitness has aligned with the Toffees’ recent run of results after they have picked up six victories in their last nine games.

He has now scored four goals and laid on one assist in 11 matches this season as he looks to keep improving and adding to that total.

After struggling with injuries over the past few years, it’s been difficult for the Englishman to play a consistent run of games, but he will now be hoping his injury problems are behind him.

It will make a world of difference for the Blues if they can call on Calvert-Lewin on a regular basis throughout the rest of this campaign as they aim to finish higher up in the Premier League table than they have in previous years.
