Newcastle United, led by Eddie Howe, intends to make a bid for Hugo Ekitike.

According to 90min, two other Premier League clubs are reportedly interested in the Paris Saint-Germain striker.

What, then, is being said regarding Hugo Ekitike and Newcastle United? Let’s investigate.

What is the story?

Hugo Ekitike from Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly a target for Newcastle United to sign during the January transfer window, according to 90min.

Newcastle attempted to sign the striker prior to his transfer to PSG, according to the report, and they may make a bid for him in the middle of the season.

The Magpies were linked with the French youngster just a few months back as well.

PSG reportedly wanted to offload the 21-year-old in the summer of 2023.

However, Newcastle are facing a problem.

According to 90min, Crystal Palace are keen on the striker, while West Ham United are also monitoring the situation. The Hammers have been linked with Timo Werner as well.

The report has added that Ekitike is ready to leave PSG in January.

Newcastle United could be appealing to Hugo Ekitike

In my opinion, Newcastle United could be hugely appealing to Paris Saint-Germain forward Hugo Ekitike.

I believe that if Newcastle make a bid, then both PSG and Ekitike would find it tempting.

PSG head coach Luis Enrique clearly does not rate Ekitike. After all, the 21-year-old has made just one substitute appearance in Ligue 1 all season.

Therefore, PSG will profit from the striker they paid £30 million for if Newcastle makes a strong offer (90min).

Second, Ekitike might be persuaded to relocate to Newcastle himself.

Currently participating in the UEFA Champions League, the Magpies are a well-known and sizable Premier League team that has the potential to place among the top four once more.

Given Callum Wilson’s history of injuries, Newcastle needs a striker. The Magpies could allow Ekitike to play on a regular basis.
