In spite of a “heavy” 10-point deduction, Duncan Ferguson has assured Everton supporters that they would be safe in a defiant statement.

The Goodison Park team received the punishment after the English Premier League Commission determined that they had violated the rules of Financial Fair Play. Since then, it has been alleged that one of the transfers that pushed authorities over the edge—following concerns from the Merseyside club regarding their spending—was the £16 million signing of Nathan Patterson from Rangers.

“They have a respectable team there. Not an issue.

“Just continue to support the club as usual; they always do.” They are some of the nation’s most devoted supporters.

To put it mildly, they’ve taken a few hits in the past several years. But the loss of ten points? I promise that they will go past it. The players and the Scousers down there are a tough bunch.

It’s going to be a really safe year for Everton, no issues at all. There won’t be any issues there because they are adequate.

“I know there are still individuals inside the club, but to be honest, I don’t know the specifics of the situation or what the true issue is. Ten points, nevertheless, does seem like a lot, doesn’t it? It appears quite heavy.

“I’m sure they’ll appeal it and hopefully they can get that reduced.”
