Brighton midfielder Billy Gilmour has been discussing what Nottingham Forest did well last weekend.

The Reds lost 3-2 to the Seagulls at the City Ground in a drama-filled game in the Premier League.

Gilmour has been handed a new lease of life at Brighton this season and is now a regular in the team.

He played the full 90 minutes last week as Brighton won and then celebrated wildly at the full-time whistle.

Gilmour explains what Forest did well against Brighton

Forest Gilmour

Gilmour has been rather complimentary about Forest after their win on Trentside last weekend.

Forest huffed and puffed against the Seagulls but they were victims of their own poor defending once again.

Gilmour has been quizzed on the wild celebrations at the end and he has some kind words about Forest for their performance.

He told TNT Sports: “We were in a difficult moment before the international break when we drew games that we possibly should have won.

“In this game, we obviously went down to 10 men v Nottingham (Forest) and it’s a team who are a good stepping stone because in their games they’re tough, they were crossing balls, going at it and we had to defend for our lives so it was a real good achievement for the team.”

Forest need points not praise

The Reds raced out of the blocks last weekend when Anthony Elanga scored after just three minutes.

However, Forest succumbed to some brilliant Brighton play mixed with some mediocre defending and eventually lost 3-2.

It’s great that other clubs talk about how intimidating and difficult things can be at Forest but that doesn’t help the Reds get points.

Things have to change and the performances being put in by Forest simply have to be better.

Hopefully, things can change for the better against Everton and a big three points can be claimed.
