Jermaine Beckford has predicted a high-scoring thriller as Everton travel to the City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest on 2 December.

The Sky Sports pundit fancies both sides to get plenty of goals and despite Sean Dyche’s penchant for being a defensive manager, he backs his side to score three goals.

He has gone for a 3-2 win in favour of the Toffees which would be a boost in their fight against relegation.

He told Premier League Productions (2 December, 13:23), “It’s a huge game. If Everton hadn’t got the deduction they would be 15th and Nottingham Forest would be 16th. It’s going to have massive implications in the future. I’m thinking an Everton victory, 3-2. Dyche is going to keep his side tight and go on the offensive on the break”

Must win

This seems to be more than just a match as it carries profound implications for both teams in the relegation battle and is thus a six pointer.

Everton, currently hampered by a points deduction, finds themselves in a precarious position.

If not for the deduction, they would be 15th, just above Nottingham Forest in 16th.

The significance of this match goes beyond the immediate standings, as the outcome may shape the trajectory of both teams in the relegation dogfight in May.

It does seem pretty bizarre that Beckford has gone for a 3-2 game given the fact that Dyche is known for organising a resilient defence and exploiting offensive opportunities on the counter-attack.

For Everton, this match is a must-win situation, not just for the three points but for the psychological boost it would provide in the relegation battle.

A victory would not only lift them in the table but also instil confidence and momentum crucial for the challenging fixtures ahead.
