Nottingham Forest transfer claim emerges over Juventus defender

Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive amid claims that the Reds were interested in signing Federico Gatti during the summer.

Juventus rejected a €25million bid for Federico Gatti from Nottingham Forest in August, it is claimed

The Italian defender has been in fine form this season having started Juve’s last 12 Serie A matches. His performances have helped to see Massimiliano Allegri’s side lead Italy’s top flight as they sit a point clear of Inter Milan having played a game more.

Gatti joined the Turin giants from Frosinone in January 2022. He has since made 39 appearances for Juventus.

And according to claims in Italian Newspaper Tuttosport, the Reds were looking to sign the 25-year-old in the summer. However, the club’s manager Allegri is said to have blocked his exit.

It is claimed that Gatti’s impressive performances for Juve during their pre-season tour of the US scuppered any chances of Forest signing the centre-back.

Gatti was also called up by Italy coach Luciano Spalletti in October and November. He made his senior debut for the Azzurri under Roberto Mancini in a 0-0 draw against England in 2022.

Forest signed 13 players during the summer transfer window. Among them included Anthony Elanga from Manchester United and Callum Hudson-Oodi from Chelsea.
