Roy Hodgson saw defeat once more in the Premier League last night as Bournemouth beat Crystal Palace 2-0.

The outcome hasn’t gone down well with Crystal Palace supporters, who are starting to turn on Roy Hodgson.

With the loss, they had only won two of the previous ten games and had only one point from the previous four.

For many club supporters, this was the last straw, but Roy Hodgson didn’t help himself by making remarks that infuriated supporters even more after the game.

Because of this, it’s probable that the manager has now fully alienated the fans. Here’s why.

Roy Hodgson may have turned every Crystal Palace fan against him

Following the defeat to Bournemouth, Roy Hodgson came out with a bizarre comment suggesting that fans had no reason to be upset and were spoilt.

He told Amazon Prime in his post-game interview that, “The fans have been spoiled here in recent times.”

Given that Crystal Palace hasn’t triumphed at Selhurst Park since September 3rd, that is an odd statement to make.

A statement that couldn’t be further from the truth, and given that Hodgson’s next two home games are against Brighton and Liverpool, he has a good chance of breaking that record.

It is only absurd for his team to perform as poorly as they have in the past and then shift the blame to the supporters, calling them spoiled.

booed off the field last night, and if Liverpool shows up this coming Saturday, it wouldn’t be shocking to see that pattern continue.

Will Crystal Palace get rid of Roy Hodgson?

After the poor run of form, to suggest Hodgson could be heading out the door isn’t an unreasonable thought.

The 76-year-old seems out of his depth right now and Palace could think it best to act before it’s too late so a sacking may not be far off.

Obviously, Hodgson deserves respect for everything he’s done in football but Palace can’t afford to wait this out as the teams currently in the relegation spots edge closer.
