Simon Kjaer is not expected to recover in time for tomorrow evening’s game against Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium, according to a report.

The Dane has been out for the last few weeks with what was initially muscular discomfort that then turned into an actual muscle issue which has required careful handling, and though he seems to be getting closer to returning it will not be tomorrow.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) confirm that Kjaer did not the full training session with the rest of his team-mates yesterday and thus it seems very unlikely that he will be called up at all for the game against La Dea tomorrow.

With Kjaer’s absence, Pioli will be forced to once again field Theo Hernandez alongside Fikayo Tomori in the centre of the Rossoneri’s defence. The Frenchman gave good indications in that role against Frosinone, but tomorrow eveningwill certainly be a much more demanding and complicated test.
