Live on air, Jim White shared what an Everton supporter messaged him regarding Bill Foley, the owner of Bournemouth

Speaking on talkSPORT on Thursday (14 December, 11:26am), the host revealed that a lot of people had got in touch with the show to discuss talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook’s interview with the Cherries chairman.

He read out a message from Toffees fan Ian, where the supporter admitted that he wished the American billionaire owned the Blues after their recent off-field issues and financial concerns under Farhad Moshiri.

“Great interview, a lot of people are reacting to it, I can tell you,” said White. “Simon (Jordan) and I are looking at a whole bunch of messages.

“There’s one from Ian, an Evertonian, ‘Just listening to Alex Crook’s interview with Bill Foley, I wish he owned Everton, I wish it was us’. He’s got that demeanour that comes over from Foley, yeah this guy, I’d like to be associated with him.”

Ideal

It’s a shame that Everton wasn’t on the market when Foley purchased Bournemouth in 2022 as he would have been an ideal fit to try and take the club forward.

The Cherries owner made the brave decision to sack Gary O’Neil over the summer after he had done an excellent job in helping keep the club in the Premier League last season.

But the decision to appoint Andoni Iraola as the new boss now appears to be paying off after they have gone five matches unbeaten, with Foley looking to build a new stadium for the south coast club as they continue to punch above their way in the top flight.

While the Toffees are building a new stadium themselves, their future still remains uncertain as the potential takeover by 777 Partners is taking its time to complete as the club’s financial situation gets worse by the day.

There are no guarantees that the deal will go through after there have been several questions raised about the suitability of the American firm over the past few months.
