AC Milan’s latest talks with the agents of Matija Popovic have not yielded the expected agreement and the deal now appears to be in jeopardy, a report claims.
As reported by Milan News, there is still no agreement on the commissions that are to be paid to his agents on completion of the deal, a common stumbling block in modern transfers.
The 18-year-old striker’s entourage has made requests that appear to be much more than Milan had anticipated, thus the entire process has been placed on hold while a solution is looked for.
In actuality, Popovic landed in Milan on Tuesday; this was not something the team had anticipated.
His contract with Partizan Belgrade ended, making him a free agent. It is obvious that he wants to complete his transfer to Milan as soon as possible.
As things stand, it is not expected that the transfer will happen unless the agents lower their commission requests.
Popovic is a highly regarded striker who, should the deal go through, is anticipated to start off with Ignazio Abate’s Primavera side.
With his age and promise, it shouldn’t be too long until he’s competing for first-team playing time.
