Everton transfer news as Southampton stance on Che Adams softens amid Wolves links

Everton and Wolves may be on high alert as Southampton are reportedly open to considering the sale of Che Adams in the transfer window.

Sky Sports reported on 9 January that as many as three clubs are interested in signing the soon-to-be out-of-contract striker in January.

Football Scotland have claimed that the Scotland international is linked to the Toffees and Wolves this month.

The presenter said: “Three separate Premier League clubs interested in signing him. Southampton potentially prepared to let him go because it’s the last chance for them to get money for him because he’s out of contract in the summer.”

Move on

The 27-year-old may have played in 124 Premier League games, but he’s not what the Toffees need right now.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been performing admirably and the summer signing of Beto from Udinese has added depth and competition in the striker position.

With Calvert-Lewin’s impressive form and Beto’s arrival as a significant investment, Everton’s striking options appear robust, minimising the urgency to sign Adams.

Furthermore, the reported interest from other Premier League clubs in the 27-year-old may allow Everton to focus on maintaining their current squad cohesion.

Adams, while a talented striker, might not be a priority for Everton’s immediate needs, given the existing depth in their strikers’ department.

However, had he been capable of playing well on the wings and available on a cheap as he’s likely to be this month, Sean Dyche might have considered a move for him.
