Nottingham Forest are locked in talks with Andy Reid over a new position at the City Ground.
That is according to Tom Collomosse from the Daily Mail.
So, what is happening with Andy Reid on the back of Nuno Espirito Santo’s appointment at Forest? We take a closer look…
Nottingham Forest in talks with Andy Reid
It would appear that Forest appreciates that ‘Reidy’ is a good egg and losing him would perhaps be seen as a blemish on the club by supporters.
The man who had two spells at Forest as a player was part of Steve Cooper’s backroom team and before that, he’s been in charge of the under-21s.
Now, according to Tom Collomosse, the Reds are in talks to find Reid a position at the club – potentially back within the academy setup.
Since arriving at Forest Espirito Santo has added his own staff – with question marks hanging over Reid and the role he will now take.
Forest would be wise to find something for stalwart
The Irishman is a burgeoning talent when it comes to coaching and Chris Cohen has praised Reid before.
At 41-years-old, the coach is still pretty young when it comes to being part of the backroom staff and Forest would do well to keep Reid.
Reid has worked with the academy before working as a manager and assistant manager of the under-21s.
It does absolutely no harm in having someone behind the scenes who understands the ethos of the club like Reid.
When a manager departs it would be very easy to simply clear the decks but Forest are hoping to now hand Reid a reprieve.
That would be a popular decision and hopefully, something can be arranged that sees Reid continue his coaching development with Forest.
