Everton could now lose £52k-a-week star in January as he’s ‘seduced’ by Ligue 1 move

Everton want to strengthen in January but in order to do so, they’ll need to rely on loan moves but could also free up wages with departures.

Sean Dyche is believed to have a little bit of wiggle room this window for transfer arrivals despite the concern over a potential second FFP punishment.

Everton will discover their fate on Monday with the Premier League to announce who has breached financial rules now.

Despite this, several players continue to be linked with a move to The Toffees, but also players are being tipped with departures.

Amadou Onana is mentioned as a potential sale, with three of the Premier League’s biggest and richest interested in signing the Belgian.

Another potential departure is Arnaut Danjuma who could see his loan spell cut short as he searches for more game time elsewhere.

Arnaut Danjuma ‘seduced’ by Lyon move

According to a report by Foot Mercato, Danjuma’s potential Ligue 1 switch is one which the player is keen on.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

Lyon are huge fans of Danjuma and the prospect of making the move is something which greatly interests the £52k-a-week Dutchman.

The report states that the 26-year-old is ‘seduced’ by the idea of joining the French giants.

Danjuma hasn’t quite lit up the Premier League for Dyche and has been firmly placed as a squad player behind both Dwight McNeil and Jack Harrison.

A move away would give Danjuma a better chance of being called up by Holland for the European Championships next summer and if he goes, it could allow Everton to strengthen with a player who’d suit the Toffees better.

Danjuma probably should leave Everton

While he is a good player and nobody will be desperate for him to leave, Danjuma just hasn’t worked out at Everton and clearly isn’t completely in Dyche’s plans.

When he’s played he hasn’t been great either which makes the case for him to take minutes from McNeil who has been brilliant drawing comparisons to a Toffees legend.

For the good of Danjuma’s career, he should make the move if he feels it’ll benefit him through playing time.

The links to Lyon do seem to get stronger every time a new story breaks and so it’s likely this move is on the cards.
