It is planned for Orel Mangala to go from Nottingham Forest during the January transfer window.
Florian Plettenberg, a journalist for Sky Germany, has identified the three teams that are eager to capture the Forest midfield player. What information has been released on Orel Mangala, the defensive midfielder for Nottingham Forest? Let’s examine this.
Orel Mangala open to Nottingham Forest
Well, according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg on X, Orel Mangala is open to leaving Nottingham Forest in the January transfer window.
The report has claimed that there are as many as three clubs keen on securing the services of the 25-year-old defensive midfielder this month.
According to Plettenberg, the Italian powerhouses Juventus and Napoli are working hard to finalize a permanent contract for the Belgium international.
A bid for the 25-year-old midfielder, who cost Forest £12.7 million (Sky Sports) in transfer fees when they acquired him from VfB Stuttgart in the summer of 2022, has already been made by Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray.
My View: Nottingham Forest should not sell Orel Mangala
In my view, Nottingham Forest should not sell Orel Mangala in the January transfer window. With three top European clubs interested in the defensive midfielder, the Reds could recoup the transfer fee they paid for him and perhaps even make a small profit, but they have to think of survival in the Premier League first.
The 25-year-old is a consistent member of the Forest squad. In his 17 Premier League starts and 1 substitute appearance this season, he has managed just one goal.
Mangala played in the Premier League for Forest last season, where he made 20 starts and seven substitute appearances. Forest and Cyril Ngonge have been connected. In those games, he provided one assist and one goal.
It is just not financially feasible for Forest to let go of such a key player in the middle of the season. Mangala must remain at the City Ground for the duration of the Reds’ season.
