Renan Lodi could now sign for Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Hilal following his departure from Nottingham Forest.

That is according to a claim by Fabrizio Romano.

So, just what is the situation involving Lodi and could possibly end up back at Forest? We take a closer look…

Lodi now wanted by Al-Hilal

Well, it does look very unlikely that Lodi will be back at Forest any time soon and he could be about to leave Europe behind altogether.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Lodi is now wanted by the Saudi Arabian club and a deal could be done quickly.

The 25-year-old defender only actually signed for Marseille in the summer but bizarrely he could now be in the way out.

He checked in with the Ligue 1 outfit with the intention of playing in the Champions League – rejecting Forest in the process.

Lodi would have been disappointed just a few weeks after signing for the club when they were dumped out of that competition at the qualifying stages.

Could Forest make a play for Lodi?

It has to be said that this ship has probably sailed right now. Lodi looks set to earn mega bucks in Saudi and Forest are unlikely to remain interested.

The player was a really good addition to the squad last season, proving integral as the team stayed in the Premier League.

Lodi has claimed 19 caps for his country during his career and last season at Forest he played 32 times.

Now, the player could be about to leave Europe and head for Saudi Arabia where his wage will likely reach an incredible amount.

As a result, it’s hard to imagine Forest pursuing the player from last season and Nuno Espirito Santo could go with what he already has at left-back.
