man u transfer news emerges amid brand new Onana exit update at Everton
Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz is a primary target at Arsenal in the January transfer window, with speculation surrounding Everton star Amadou Onana wide of the mark, according to Football Transfers.
The website reported on 12 January that Arsenal’s interest in Onana is not as strong as reports elsewhere had claimed and that the Aston Villa midfielder is their number-one midfield target.
Luiz is named as one of multiple names on a list that the North London club would rather attempt to bring to The Emirates than Everton’s star man.
Good news, Everton fans
Belgian journalist Sacha Tavoliri reported via his Twitter account on 8 January that Arsenal were in intensive talks to secure a deal for Onana, but the latest reports have distanced the Gunners from a January deal.
If the report from Football Transfers is to be believed, Onana could be set to remain at Goodison Park after all – for the rest of the season at least. Fans will no by now that speculation comes with the territory. When you have a player as impressive as Onana on the books, people are going to take notice.
That’s why both Arsenal and Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for the midfield star in recent weeks, and likely will be again in the summer should he remain on Merseyside for the rest of the season.
Keeping their star man for the remainder of the season could prove the difference between relegation and survival for Sean Dyche’s team, and while some may brand him inconsistent, there is no arguing how influential Onana can be in this team.
