The latest transfer gossip sees Sunderland linked with Leicester City and Notts County players.

Sunderland have been linked with two new names during the January transfer window.

The period clubs can trade players during the winter is now 17 days old and Sunderland have yet to conclude an incoming or an outgoing deal despite multiple rumours.

The Black Cats were linked to two new players earlier this week as transfer coordinators Stuart Harvey and Kristjaan Speakman try to suit Michael Beale’s wants. The manager of Sunderland has expressed a desire for another striker, and Notts County forward Macaulay Langstaff—who has also been connected to Derby County and Birmingham City—has been discussed in relation to Sunderland.

After joining Notts County from North East club Gateshead, the prolific goalscorer scored 42 goals in 47 games to help the team win promotion from the National League. This season, the 26-year-old has already scored 20 more goals.

According to reports, Peterborough United is eager to sign the 26-year-old to support their League One promotion bid. Along with Wrexham and Hearts, clubs that have expressed interest include Birmingham City, Sunderland, and Derby County.

According to Sunderland Nation, Sunderland is also reportedly pursuing Luke Thomas, a defender for Leicester City, to bolster their left-back lineup.The Black Cats have sustained injuries in their defense, as Niall Huggins and Dennis Cirkin are expected to miss significant amounts of time due to their ailments.

The 22-year-old started the 2021 FA Cup final and has over 50 Premier League appearances under his belt for Leicester. He also has Europa League experience. Thomas is said to be available for loan.
