Pressure now on Everton to make final January transfer decision after Aranut Danjuma update

Lyon are pushing to sign Arnaut Danjuma in January with talks ongoing, and the pressure is now on Everton to make the final transfer decision, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Romano reported via his Twitter account on 18 January that Danjuma remains keen on the move to the French outfit as they could offer him guaranteed playing time which he is missing at Goodison Park.

No green light has been given by the Toffees yet, but with the talks ongoing and the winger keen on the move, things could speed up if Everton make their decision soon.

A move appears to be edging closer

Amid plenty of speculation over his future at Goodison Park, it now looks almost inevitable that Danjuma will depart in January having failed to live up to the expectation around his eagerly anticipated spell under Dyche.

When he arrived in the summer, having previously turned down a move to Everton in favour of a short-term loan with Tottenham, there were high hopes for what he could do, but just four Premier League starts later he is looking to quit already.

Rumours and reports have suggested that Everton will be forced to bring in another winger to replace Danjuma should he leave, so if the green light is given for the move to take place, it will be a race against time to bring in a new attacker before the window closes.

It has been a disappointing move for Danjuma, and the only concern about him leaving would be that the squad depth will take a hit, rather than losing who should have been a key forward at Goodison Park this season.
