Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest are in the picture for FC Krasnodar’s Jhon Córdoba, according to Caracol Radio’s El VBar Caracol.
After leaving Hertha BSC in 2021, the striker signed with the Russian team and became their star player. In 78 games, he has tallied 38 goals and 18 assists, of which 11 goals and 4 assists have come this season.
Premier League teams have taken notice of Córdoba; Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace are keeping an eye on him.
The 30-year-old is reportedly a viable “option to reinforce the attack” for Nuno Espírito Santo’s team as well as the Eagles, most likely in the winter market. The Colombian international’s deal expires in2025, and it’s unclear if he would be open to moving to England.
Nottingham Forest are 15th in the table, a point behind 14th placed Crystal Palace, and four points ahead of Luton Town, who are in the relegation zone.
Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine last summer, The Guardian reported that the Premier League ‘would aggressively discourage its clubs’ from doing business with Russian teams.
The attempt by Spartak Moscow to sign Davinson Sánchez, who was playing for Tottenham Hotspur at the time, brought this to light.
It remains to be seen if this would affect Nottingham Forest’s and Crystal Palace’s plans to recruit Córdoba from Krasnodar in January.
