West Brom attacker and reported Everton target Tom Fellows was left out of the matchday squad against Norwich City due to illness.
According to Express and Star journalist Lewis Cox, there has been a bug around the club all week and it even impacted manager Carlos Corberan.
Fellows, who’s been linked with Everton and Leicester, per the Daily Mail, has not travelled with the club for the game.
Via Twitter, Cox wrote: “No Tom Fellows today, he hasn’t travelled because of illness. A bit around the club this week including the head coach. Blow for #wba.”
Would have played?
While Fellows scored in the last game, he knew that he was always a backup option filling in for unavailable players.
He perhaps would not have expected the number of playing minutes he’s gotten this season and it’s fair to say that he’s made the most of it.
However, Jed Wallace is playing on the right wing and he’s likely back to a 100 per cent so it’s expected that he’ll be starting ahead of the 20-year-old.
Everton are a Premier League club and Fellows is unlikely to get as much game time there as he will at the Hawthorns for the rest of the season.
Leicester offer an interesting option but even they will be getting promoted unless something dramatic happens and will then strengthen their squad with Premier League players.
Hopefully, Fellows stays at the Hawthorns and Corberan surely will be trying his best to convince the young winger to stay put.
