Nottingham Forest full-back Nuno Tavares gets on better with Nuno than he did with Steve Cooper.
That is according to journalist Thibaud Vezirian, who has reported whether or not the Arsenal-owned left-back really likes it at the City Ground. So, what has been reported about Nuno Tavares? Let’s take a look.
Journalist explains Nuno Tavares’s situation at Nottingham Forest
Journalist Thibaud Vezirian claims that Nuno Tavares, a left defender for Nottingham Forest, is not too pleased with his situation at the team. Vezirian asserted that Tavares’ entourage is already in communication with Marseille, a team in Ligue 1.
In the summer of 2023, the 23-year-old left-back signed a season-long loan agreement with Forest from Premier League rivals Arsenal. According to the article, Tavares gets along with Nuno better than he did with Steve Cooper, the Forest manager who was fired last month.
The left-back struggled to get into the Reds’ matchday squads on occasions when Cooper was in charge.
Le10Sport quotes Vezirian as saying, as translated by SportWitness: “According to the information I have from Nuno Tavares’ entourage, he was contacted by Olympique de Marseille.
“He gets on better with the new coach at Nottingham Forest, but he is not in an atmosphere that he particularly likes there.”
My View: Nottingham Forest should send Nuno Tavares back to Arsenal
In my opinion, Nottingham Forest should terminate to Nuno Tavares’s loan deal and send him back to Arsenal in the January transfer window.
Tavares has struggled to make an impact at the City Ground, and I do not think that the 23-year-old would be able to get into the first team anytime soon.
The Portuguese left-back has made only one start and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Forest this season. Tavares has made one start and one substitute appearance in the FA Cup for the Reds.
Marseille have been linked with Tavares. Perhaps it would be best for the left-back if he went back to the French club where he had a loan spell in 2022-23.
