Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ettifaq have made an approach to Everton to sign their star midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure this month.

Having lost Jordan Henderson just six months into his time at the club, the Saudi side are now looking to Merseyside again to strengthen the ranks with a move for Doucoure.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Ettifaq have made an approach to both Everton and the player’s camp to try and get Doucoure to sign for them this month.

The Saudi side wan a new midfielder to replace Henderson and Romano has stated that Doucoure is one of the players they are going for.

Doucoure has been a key player for the Toffees this season and has impressed Sean Dyche with a number of fine performances in the middle of the park. The midfielder signed for Everton in 2020 for around £20m.

Everton’s financial position has left them vulnerable this month and it could now see them lose one or more top players as clubs circle. Amadou Onana is also a wanted man, with Newcastle said to be keen on the young Belgian.

Everton need their top stars

Sean Dyche has worked wonders this season with Everton but with another points deduction possible, he’s going to need all his best players.

Abdoulaye Doucoure is definitely one of the better players at Everton right now and it’s imperative he stays if they are to stay up with ease.

Right now, Doucoure is a crucial part of what is a strong midfield at Goodison Park. Losing him, and then potentially Onana as well, would be a nightmare for the club and Dyche.

However, it won’t be Dyche’s fault if Doucoure does go. The club has been run poorly and now the players and staff are taking the brunt.

Everton fans will be praying Doucoure remains but with Saudi money being flashed at him, it could be a hard deal to turn down.
