There are rumors that Crystal Palace has a four-man shortlist of candidates to take Roy Hodgson’s job, who is under pressure.

After being destroyed 5-0 at Arsenal on Saturday, the Eagles are now just five points above the relegation zone in the Premier League and ranked 15th overall.

Supporters are naturally incensed by their recent performance, which has seen them win just one of their past 12 games in all competitions. Those that traveled to the Emirates made their opinions known.

One said, “Positive wasted.” Poor decisions both on and off the field. “Taking us backwards,” remarked one, and “no shared vision,” claimed another. Not a well-organized plan. Yanks out, Parish out.

Hodgson was always expected to leave Selhurst Park in the summer anyway, but there is now a lot of pressure on the former England manager to be sacked.

And, according to the Daily Mail, Palace already have four names in mind should they decide to part ways with the 76-year-old who returned to the club just over a year ago to replace the axed Patrick Vieira.

The two most prominent candidates are Steve Cooper and Julen Lopetegui, who are both out of work having left Nottingham Forest and Wolves respectively earlier this season.

Cooper was actually linked with the South London side in 2021 when Hodgson first left but they opted to hire Vieira instead.

Other names under consideration are Kieran McKenna whose impressive Ipswich side are currently third in the Championship, and former Mainz boss Bo Svensson.

One manager who has been linked with Palace previously is Graham Potter, who was in the stands at the Emirates, and has been out of work since getting sacked by Chelsea last season.
