Jamie Carragher has made his prediction for the FA Cup fourth-round clash between Everton and Luton Town this weekend at Goodison Park.

The Toffees progressed through to this round after overcoming Crystal Palace in a replay thanks to Andre Gomes’ stunning free-kick, while Luton defeated Bolton 2-1 in their third-round game.

And making his picks for the game for Sky Super 6 (24 January), Sky Sports pundit Carragher is predicting a routine 2-0 win for Sean Dyche’s side on Saturday afternoon.

Everton have been really good this season in large spells, but their league position has been decimated by the ten-point deduction and their finances have stopped them strengthening the squad during the transfer window.

But with a limited schedule the manager has been able to go with a strong side in the cups and give a good account of the team, and making the fans happy in the process.

Luton were able to sneak a win at Goodison in the Premier League earlier this season in quite a shock result, but since then the Toffees have really improved and are a much tougher outfit to beat.

Dyche will no doubt go with a strong team once again after a decent amount of time between fixtures, and with a strong side and home advantage it’s really Everton’s game to lose.

A defeat would be a shock for everyone despite their win in this fixture earlier in the campaign, so the team must perform to the standards we know they are capable of and prove Carragher’s prediction right.
