Sunderland have finally discovered the fate of one of their key January transfer targets.

Wing-back Callum Styles, who plays for Barnsley and Hungary, is reportedly close to joining Sunderland, marking Michael Beale’s first acquisition as manager of the club.

Additionally, he would be the first player signed during the Black Cats’ relatively quiet January transfer window. The team has lost its previous three games and is now in 10th position in the standings.

Right now, there isn’t a fantastic vibe among the supporters. However, a few fresh additions might significantly increase the fan base, and the possible return of Ahmad Diallo would undoubtedly aid in that.

Beale has said himself that he’d love to see the Manchester United man return after his positive loan spell at the club under Tony Mowbray last season.

But that won’t be the case.

Manchester United to keep Amad Dallo at Old Trafford

Diallo, 21, has been linked with a loan exit this month. Sunderland are just one of the teams said to be keen on regaining his services, but an emerging report from Manchester Evening News has revealed that the Red Devils have now decided to keep the Ivorian at the club this month.

Following a season in which he scored fourteen goals and recorded three assists in forty-nine Championship games for Sunderland, Diallo returned to United in the summer with the expectation of competing for a starting position in Erik ten Hag’s squad.

But those ambitions were derailed by injury. After missing the first half of the season, Diallo returned to the field last month as a substitute in a 2-1 loss at Nottingham Forest. Now that Jadon Sancho is back at Borussia Dortmund and Anthony Martial is having a difficult month, Diallo appears to be close to returning to the Old Trafford field.
