Newcastle United have an agreement with Miguel Almiron until 2026 and the playmaker is keen to remain in Toon

Miguel Almiron, an attacker for Newcastle United, is rumored to have informed Toon executives that he does not want to leave St. James’ Park this month.

Though there have been rumors of a £30 million bid for the Paraguay captain, Almiron, 29, is only a year into a new deal and enjoys living on Tyneside with his young family. Almiron has been linked to Al-Shabab. Almiron and his family are reportedly “not open” to moving this month.

Furthermore, it is believed that neither Almiron’s agent, Daniel Campos, nor the Saudi Pro League team have been contacted or involved in the negotiations to sell the South American star.

Due to FFP regulations, Almiron, Kieran Trippier, and Callum Wilson have all been connected to the departure door this month as Newcastle looks to make room for upcoming business. CEO Darren Eales, who previously worked with the Toon star at Atlanta United before moving to Tyneside, and Almiron get along well.

Eales said last season: “He’s just a great guy to have around. He’s just one of a squad of players that are all working their hardest.”

After settling down with his partner in Newcastle, Almiron’s little son was born into life in black and white and has been a mascot in the Premier League.

Speaking to Chronicle Live, Almiron, speaking about life on Tyneside, said: “To be honest I’m a pretty quiet and reserved as a bloke really. “I am not one for having big nights out or parties. I just enjoy spending time with my family. “On a normal day after training we might take my son to play at the park or for a walk, we might go for a coffee.

“To me, those moments are the really special ones in life and what I live for. “For a footballer, it is always really good when you are settled at home.”

After winning a haul of personal accolades last season, Almiron said his big career aim is to finally lift that first big trophy at Newcastle since 1969. He said: “Without even a thought I’d trade all of these awards around me now to deliver a major trophy for Newcastle United.”
